Hovis Local AI Workbench

Problem
Most personal AI assistants require sending private documents to cloud APIs, lack deterministic budget/scope boundaries, and cannot recover cleanly when a local worker restarts.
Work Performed
Designed a local-first Node.js workbench with a closed 11-state task/step machine, RFC 8785 JCS canonical ledger hashing, SHA-256 file preimage grounding, vetted deterministic tools, and encrypted checkpoint recovery.
Result & Current Evidence Status
Verified across 13 offline contract and regression test suites (143 checks passed, zero network sockets opened during offline verification).
